BRISTOL – Customers to Rosie’s Laundry Co. can expect convenience, cleanliness and a quick turnaround at very affordable prices.

Owner Maureen Callahan, started the business in Avon in 2012, and opened her second location at 1290 Farmington Ave. in 2017. Since then, she said that the community has been very supportive.

“Everything is working out really well,” she said. “We mirrored what we were doing in Avon, which has been a successful business model. We’ve had our ups and downs because of the pandemic and the road construction but we’re growing and we’re doing our best like everyone else in the small business world.”

Callahan, who is originally from Bristol, said she saw her business as a “good fit for the community.”

“We needed to find the perfect location to serve both Bristol and Farmington and we found this place,” she said. “We’re right next to Walmart and ShopRite, which is a big plus for customers. They can put their wash in, go run their errands and we can transfer their laundry over if they leave their laundry card with us. Then, when they’re done shopping, their laundry is ready to go.”

Rosie’s Laundry Co. has 22 washes and 26 dryers, which Callahan said are all “high-tech and high-efficiency.”

“They’re all brand new machines,” she said. “You can get your wash and dry done in less than an hour.”

Rosie’s Laundry Co. also has stations where customers can fold their laundry. Each has its own television with a USB port for computers. There are also vending machines for food, drinks and different types of laundry detergent. Customers can also use the Laundromat’s Wi-Fi while waiting in their cars if they wish.

Callahan said that she has also made sure to keep her prices low.

“We have kept the lowest prices in town to help the public,” she said. “Our small machine is $2.95, our medium machine can do four loads of laundry for $4.95 and our largest machine can handle six loads of laundry for $6.95.”

Callahan said customers also appreciate that Rosie’s Laundry Co. uses a card system.

“We have a loyalty system in place as well,” she said. “If customers use their card, it puts some of the money back on their card automatically.”

Callahan thanks her customers for their continued support and for telling their friends and family members.

Her business’ mascot, Rosie, is named after her mother.
