BRISTOL – M.R. Homecare Inc. has been providing elder home care to the community for over 25 years.

The services the agency provides include homemakers, companions, personal care assistant, bill payer and others.

Homemaker services entail handling light household tasks for those who don’t have time for them or those who need assistance. These responsibilities can include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, laundry, light dusting, trash removal, meal prep and shopping or errands.

Companion services are more of a personal nature. These include attending or providing transportation to things like medical appointments, shopping, hair appointments, social activities, religious functions or something as simple as a walk. Companion duties can also include cue of medications or observation of a client.

A personal care assistant can provide all the same services as a homemaker and companion, but can also assist a client with personal needs like help with bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, ambulation and transferring.

Bill payer services help manage household finances and monitor financial activities of clients. This helps reduce the occurrence of unpaid bills, checks that don’t get deposited, interruption of services of utilities and eviction.

M.R. Homecare Inc. was started in 1988 by Michalene “Mikki” Rosado, according to its website. By 1995, her son, Scott Rosado, overlooked day-to-day operations because of her declining health. Scott Rosado in 1997 became vice president of M.R. Homecare Inc. and helped care for his mother until she died in 1999, the website states.
