PLYMOUTH - If you’re going to have someone work on the electricity in your home or business, wouldn’t you want it to be done by a good guy?

Good Guy Electric, owned and operated by Dean Ferrante, has provided reliable, quality electrical work for 20 years. The company got its start at 55 Ridge Road in Terryville in 1997 servicing and designing automatic machines. Over the years, Ferrante developed Good Guy Electric into a full-service electrical contractor. Good Guy Electric currently has five-star ratings on Google and Yahoo as well as an A+ rating with Angie’s List.

“The thousands of people who keep coming back to me over the years can’t be wrong,” said Ferrante. “Quotes are always free and customers often ask me when I’m finished, ‘Is that all this is going to cost?’ I have a competitive niche versus companies with higher overhead. I won’t nickel and dime you to death, and I will always provide quality work.”

Fully licensed, Ferrante has also worked as an electrical engineer, providing services to Hartford and Litchfield counties. Good Guy Electric is a member of several local business associations, including the Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce.

One company Ferrante has done repeated work for is Larson’s Garden Center at 26 Covey Road in Burlington. There, he installed multiple service panels, set the timing and delay temperature controls for the greenhouse and helped to connect a wood chip furnace to another building.

“We are very pleased with his work,” said Ralph Larson, father of owner Kaitlyn Larson and the builder of the greenhouse for the fourth-generation business that began in Bristol in 1919 and came to Burlington in 2013. “I think he (Ferrante) has got a creative mind on a lot of these projects all while keeping everything up to code and making safety a priority. Thanks to the work he did, we were able to grow quite a few of our own plants that will be ready for Mother’s Day.”

Whether it’s residential, commercial or industrial electrical work, Ferrante has it covered. No job is too small.

Good Guy Electric’s wide range of services include installation, troubleshooting, PLC program design, variable frequency drive setup, motor control wiring, service changes, wiring upgrades and generators, wiring for a host of lighting options, security cameras, fire alarms, home entertainment and service grounding and emergency lighting.

Ferrante advises people to have their electrical panels inspected every year. He cautions all electrical customers to look out for warning signs such as flickering or dimming lights, repeatedly blown fuses or hot or discolored outlets.
