HARTFORD - Longtime family-owned manufacturer BML Tool & Manufacturing Corp. is this week’s “Murphy’s Monday Manufacturer,” announced U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy.

BML is a tool and die company founded in 1968 a two-car garage by business partners Philip Battaglia, Joeseph Legen and Charles Mossma.

It now manufactures complex tools and automated machinery out of a custom-built 38,000-square-foot facility in Monroe.

“BML is a veteran and family-owned company that employs dozens of talented Connecticut residents,” said Murphy. “I’m grateful for their service to our country and for their 49 years of loyalty to our state.”

BML has grown large enough to buy new machinery and move operations to larger plants in Bridgeport and Fairfield.

Its team of 53 engineers, tool makers, CNC (computer numerical control) production personnel and administrative staff serve customers in the electrical, defense and aerospace industries.

“BML strives to keep its personnel, vendor pool and customer base local, serving the domestic market,” Anthony Battaglia of BML Tool & Manufacturing Corp. said.
