NEW BRITAIN-A ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for K&R Precision Grinding on Wednesday at 2 p.m. The ceremony will mark the official opening of K&R Precision Grinding in New Britain, a manufacturer of grinding finishes that include O.D. and I.D. grinding, surface grinding and rotary grinding.

A former co-owner of Serois Tool Inc. in Berlin, Marc Begin, purchased K&R Grinding this year.

The company was located in Newington when Begin bought it, but moved it to New Britain in order to expand its square footage and make the location more accessible to customers.

K&R Precision Grinding has nine employees and is leasing an 8,000-square-foot area at 39 John St.

Mayor Erin Stewart, Economic Development Director Bill Carroll, Greater New Britain Chamber of Commerce President Tim Stewart and Begin will all be in attendance.
