To the Editor:

Mayor Jeff Caggiano and Bristol City Councilors; The Central CT Chambers of Commerce is writing to you in support of the Wheeler Clinic Project.

The Mission Statement of the Chamber is “Business Working Together to Promote Regional Prosperity and Community Vitality.” Without economic growth and regional prosperity, we will not have community vitality.

Wheeler Clinic is an outstanding business organization that serves not only Bristol but the regional citizens. Wheeler Clinic has chosen Bristol, CT, to be their headquarters. We should be welcoming them. They will bring hundreds of jobs into Bristol’s downtown. Those employees and their clients will bring foot traffic to businesses in the Bristol community.

We are asking for each of you to vote yes on this economic growth opportunity for the City of Bristol.

(Editor’s Note: The Wheeler project in Centre Square was voted down by the Bristol City Council, but a modified version of the plan was approved by the Bristol Economic and Community Development Board of Commissioners last week. The full council will vote on that project soon.)
