To the Editor:

As a former library board member for the town of Southington, I urge you to support the YES referendum for the Southington public library on November 2, 2021.

The library is truly a community center that needs to reflect a growing community and be able to offer information, life-long learning, and cultural enrichment. The current building (although it offers many events) is too small for the growing town, does not meet fire codes, is not ADA compliant and has failing systems within the building.

As a nurse and educator, I have been able to present community education and also to attend many programs but space is limited.

Vote YES for a new library that will reflect the fine town of Southington.
