To the Editor:
My husband, Rick, and I moved from New Jersey to Bristol 36 years ago. Our three children were born in Bristol Hospital and attended Bristol Public Schools.
Our family always took advantage of the wonderful programs and activities offered by our town: The Bristol Soccer Club, Forestville Little League, Summer Parks and Rec Programs, The Family Center, Bristol Community Theater, Girl and Boy Scouts and let’s not forget Mrs. Wilson’s Dance Studio! Add to these all of the great programs and activities offered by our Public Schools and it’s easy to see why we are proud to have raised our family in Bristol.
In my opinion though, the most important part of our Bristol home is the sense of family, friendship and community that makes Bristol so special. When Rick and I arrived here in 1985, one of the families that made us feel so welcome was the Zoppos. Mike and MaryEllen were always there for Rick, offering advice and facilitating professional contacts. Their daughter, Mayor Ellen Zoppo- Sassu, has always been a vital part of this wonderful Bristol community.
It’s very obvious to see Ellen’s love for her hometown in the dedicated, intelligent way that she devotes her efforts to making Bristol an even better place to live.
Please join me in voting for Ellen Zoppo- Sassu for Mayor of Bristol so she may continue her excellent work for our Bristol community.
