To the Editor:

I want to thank the entire City of Bristol for your support of my virtual Boston Marathon. As of today [Oct. 18, 2021], nearly $6,000 has been raised to support Bristol Adult Resource Center’s programs. These donations have come from so many different people – high school friends, college friends, colleagues from previous positions, family, Rotary friends, and people who love BARC as much as I do. And some have come from people I don’t even know!

In addition to donors, I would like to thank the people who ran with me, who cheered for me, who made home-made signs for me, and who allowed me to cross the street when needed.

Most of all, I would like to thank BARC’s staff and individuals. You inspire me every day…never did I ever think I could actually run a MARATHON!

Just like the City itself, you are truly ALL HEART.

If you haven’t gotten a chance to donate but would like to, please visit and click on “Marathon.”

On behalf of everyone at BARC, thank you!

Mary Etter

Executive Director, BARC
