To the Editor:
Recently, State Representative Cara Pavalock-D’Amato was recorded in a video promoting Republican Mayoral Candidate Jeff Caggiano.
In this video, she says, “Leadership is about lifting those around you up, not putting others down…” This, coming from a State Rep who wrote a note to a constituent just last year calling them a “foreclosed loser” presumably on her note paper featuring a “C” assumed to be for “Cara”.
These professionally produced, scripted videos will not fool those of us that know the Republicans are running on nothing. “He has a plan to cut City spending” but doesn’t provide any details on that plan.
Let’s face it, Bristol Republicans continue to support the “unmask our kids” – or shall I say “put our kids in danger at school” – initiative. They don’t support free lunch for all school children which is paid for by State and Federal funding whether we take advantage of it in Bristol or not. By the way, this program actually saves the BOE budget around $400k per year in expenses associated with collecting cash and charging students for lunch.
This Administration has brought us to a position of inclusivity rather than division. They have led us through unprecedented times and have done so with the best interest of Bristol and Bristol’s residents at the forefront. The answer is simple; get out and get everyone you know out to vote for our Democratic Mayor and City Council on Nov. 2 so we can continue to make a positive impact on our community.
