To the Editor:

“I am a senior and an unabashed, enthusiastic supporter of Cara Pavalock-D’Amato!

To those who may ask why, let me say first and foremost, she works for all of us! She knows how to listen and works across party lines to get the results needed. I know because I was a Democrat when she first knocked on my door, introduced herself and asked me, “What do I need from her?” I was happy to learn the things that are concerning me, high taxes, rampant spending beyond the state’s means and the high cost of medicine, are the same things she fights against every day.

Cara is accessible! Whether I attend one of the monthly coffee hours at Rodd’s, email her or call her, Cara responds! No wonder, I decided to change party affiliations after being a Democrat for 50 years!

Last, but by far not the least, Cara is a person of action. Words and ideas are important, but more important are their translation into action! Tolls are a great example of that! Cara answered my questions and engaged in the fight for me and thousands of others who feel tolls are costly, another unnecessary tax and an ineffective attempt to remedy our revenue and infrastructure challenges.

I counted more than 60 bills Cara has introduced during her tenure, including one that requires insurance companies to cover hearing aids. She has supported many other bills like the one capping co-pays on insulin and ones addressing the high cost of prescriptions. Cara listens to our concerns and advocates for seniors who look to her for representation and assistance.

We deserve the very best representation and Cara Pavalock-D’Amato exemplifies the very best. Please send Cara back to the Legislature to continue her pledge to make government work for the people!
