To the Editor:

I’m excited this year to be able to vote for a state senator and a state representative who I know will represent Bristol with passion and commitment to providing the best possible for our city and its residents.

I have known Mary Fortier for many years. I’ve worked side by side with her on school fundraisers, political and social issues. She is someone who can multi-task effectively (raising six children while in law school), someone who understands our city and its challenges and strengths.

As a City Councilwoman, she’s been involved in many decisions that have impacted us all. She is someone who will care about Bristol businesses AND its citizens. I will be delighted to know that she is representing our best interests in Hartford.

Andrew Rasussmen-Tuller has rapidly impressed me with his knowledge, abilities and commitment to Bristol and its families.

I only met him earlier this year but in these past few months, I have seen his love for this city, his vision for its future and his dreams for this community where he is raising his children. He is new to Bristol politics but not new to Bristol, having been a lifelong resident. He is a local realtor with a background in manufacturing and a degree in human resource management. He has served our city on the Economic & Community Development Board.

Andrew also supports the Connecticut Plan for affordable health care for all. At a time when the covid-19 pandemic is about to overlap with flu season, I know that adequate health care coverage is on a lot of people’s minds.

Andrew is young, energetic and will be an enthusiastic voice for our city. There are many important issues which will be considered in the next two years.

I believe that Mary and Andrew are the best people to represent our city and all of its citizens. I’ve cast my ballot already for both and hope that you will consider doing so, too.
