Last evening, I attended an event celebrating the 5-year anniversary of the Bristol Boys and Girls Club building on West St. The building is beautiful and is a testament to the priority Bristol attaches to youth development. What struck me was the sense of community I felt as I entered the building. There were Mayors, past and present, as well as City Council members, Sen. Martin and Rep. Betts from our State legislative delegation, and a host of community leaders, many of whom were responsible for insuring that this beautiful building would come to fruition. The Bristol Boys and Girls Club is successful because of the efforts of hard-working individuals, like Mike Suchopar and Jay Maia, but primarily because of the support of the Greater Bristol Community. Hats off to the City of Bristol.
