To The Editor:

On April 24, the Berlin residents have an opportunity to vote their opinion on the budget. I will be at the polls and I will be voting NO. I do not accept the budget and I feel the budget for both the town and BOE spending is too high.

Our town needs to take a serious look at spending, where can there be reductions, where can the town consolidate services? Right now we have a separate human resource, payroll/finance and IT departments for our Town Hall and Board of education. These can be consolidated and save our residents dollars. I time our town and the Board of ed rolls up their sleeves and works together.

The budget can be lowered and lessen the burden on tax payers. I am voting NO, I hope you join me and send a message to the Board of Finance. Our Republican Town Council members presented an option which would have lessened the burden on the taxpayers. Let’s have another go at the budget.
