Your View: Supporter describes accomplishments of 'Mayor Ken'

Mayor Ken Cockayne has done an incredible job as mayor in his two terms. I am very enthusiastic about him continuing as our mayor. Here are a few of the highlights Mayor Ken has accomplished:

1) Zero tax increase;

2) Grand List grew this past year;

3) New businesses in Southeast Industrial Park – GMN, AMKO, Pods;

4) Aggressive on blight: 68 structures down;

5) New company in Bristol: Jo-Vek Tool & Die;

6) Benjamin International, new company in Bristol;

7) Going forward with Memorial Boulevard School Phase I;

8) Faneuil Downtown 300 employees, 400 by Nov.;

9) Unemployment continues to go down;

10) Bristol Hospital will have a new 60,000 sq. ft. medical office building;

11) Construction for road for Bristol Hospital medical office building has been started;

12) Brought Bristol Blues to Bristol;

13) Implemented senior volunteer tax credit;

14) West End realignment is currently under design;

15) Regionalized Veteran Strong;

16) Sold Bingham and O’Connell schools; they will be senior housing. First time on the tax rolls for schools.

The mayor is doing a great job. He has accomplished so much in Bristol in the past four years. Please vote on Nov. 7 for Mayor Ken.
