To the Editor:

We live in a time of challenge for students, teaching and learning. Plainville needs a Board of Education capable of meeting these challenges.

We are most fortunate to have three highly qualified candidates, with the expertise, desire and ability to meet these challenges; Becky Tyrell, Rebecca Martinez and Kathleen Wells. Becky Tyrell has dedicated her public life to education, she has served over 16 years on the Plainville Board of Education and currently is the chair of the CABE Federal Relations Committee. Rebecca Martinez maintains a leadership role on the Wheeler School PTO, and was a most effective leader in promoting support for the Wheeler School renovation referendum. Kathleen Wells has established a reputation as an individual highly supportive of the education process. We need leadership, experience and dedication on our Board of Education. We must have citizens on our Board of Education that will continue our ongoing efforts to inspire, prepare and engage all our students. Please join with me in voting for Becky Tyrell, Rebecca Martinez and Kathleen Wells on Nov. 7.
