To the Editor:

On Thursday, Aug. 24, the Crocodile Club will hold its 136th reunion dinner at Lake Compounce. This dinner commemorates Gad Norton’s successful petition to the state legislature to relocate a portion of the southern Bristol city border to accommodate his wishes to have his property located in the city of Bristol for voting purposes.

This traditional event marks the closeness that the politicos of the past, working together, got things done.

There is no reason that they cannot come together again at the Lake, enjoy the camaraderie, the food and the entertainment for a great cause, the New England Carousel Museum.

Therefore, I urge all Bristol and Southington city officials, national and state legislators, regardless of party affiliation, to attend this event and bring their wit, wisdom and good wishes to the Crocodile Dinner. It will be a truly memorable event and one you should not miss.
