The City of Bristol’s Department of Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Service’s Fall 2021 Men’s softball leagues have concluded, and despite an uncharacteristically rainy season, both the men’s 18-over and 40-over leagues were able to crown champions. League finals took place earlier in the week at Mix St. Field and Bristol’s Casey Field, capping off an August to October season.

In the 18-over league, Team Davis took down defending title holder Sporty’s Café in a double-elimination final. Team Davis captured the top seed after a strong regular season and remained on top through the playoff run.

In the 40-over league Spartans II took home the league title after going undefeated in the reular season, outlasting Factory Athletics in the single-elimination playoff bracket.

Spartans II and Factory Athletics were two new clubs to join this season, expanding the league from its original four since the league’s inception in 2016. The 18-over league also saw expansion, adding four new teams to bring the league to 10 total clubs. BPRYCS Softball League Director Shawn Mirmina noted his hopes for expansion again going forward.
