Children's Charities Tennis Classic to hold youth clinic

NEW BRITAIN - The Children’s Charities Tennis Classic will have another component this year.

Don Lukowski, the chairman and founder of the Classic announced they will be holding a youth tennis clinic on Saturday at 10 a.m. at New Britain High School tennis courts.

The 41st annual Children’s Charities Tennis Classic will take place Saturday and Sunday at the New Britain High tennis courts as well and is open to all junior players ages 10 through adult. The tournament will benefit the Pediatric Autism Center Project and Programs of the Hospital for Special Care in New Britain with 100 percent of all entry fees and donations are given directly to the hospital.

The clinic is open to all young people interested in tennis of various abilities and will be run by Hube Bis, the boys tennis head coach at Classical Magnet School, as well as others.

Cost to participate in the tennis clinic is $5 and free to those who are registered to play in the Classic. Please note that participants must bring their own racquets. To register for the clinic please email Lukowski at
