BRISTOL - Gregory Bruno did it all for New York on Monday morning.

His three RBI and five scoreless innings led the way in New York’s 7-0 win over Pennsylvania in the Mid-Atlantic portion of the Little League Eastern Regional, the first shutout of the tournament for New York.

Bruno finished the game with 11 strikeouts on the mound, allowing two hits and walking three.

Most impressively was New York’s patience at the plate. New York drew 10 walks against Pennsylvania opposed to four hits.

Pennsylvania went through six pitchers against New York and five of the six had at least one walk.

Levi Schlesinger started for Pennsylvania, throwing one inning with one hit and two walks allowed. He let in one earned run. Gabriel Johnson, Brady Myers, Nathan Wian, Dallas Alexander and Connor Foltz pitched the rest of the game for Pennsylvania.

Alexander was the other pitcher to allow an earned run.

New York’s Derek Mendez came into pitch in relief of Bruno and had a scoreless inning with three strikeouts.

Chris Bedford, Steven Martinez, Mendez and Logan Castellano had the hits for New York.

Alexander and Kevin Grenninger had the two hits for Pennsylvania.

With the loss, Pennsylvania will take on Delaware today at 4 p.m. while New York will face New Jersey Thursday night at 7 p.m.
