MANCHESTER - The Bristol co-op boys swim team got its first victory of the season on Tuesday, beating host Manchester 96-68 to improve to 1-2.

Gabe Bartolome won both of his two individual events (200 IM, 2:10.66; and 100 breaststroke, 1:06.40), qualifying for the Class LL state trials in each.

Bristol’s medley relay of Bartolome, Colton Litwinczyk, Keagan Mullan and Ben Stafford took first place with a time of 1:51.37. Mullan narrowly missed qualifying for states in the 50 freestyle, even with the first place finish. Mullan won the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.29.

With Middletown having no divers, Bristol swept that event, with Marissa Stone taking first, Sebastian Rutkowski second and Brian Collins third.

Lewis Sinche and Michael Bond placed first and second, respectively, in the 500 freestyle.

Terryville 48, St. Paul 24: The Kangaroos won four of the seven contested matches and got plenty of other points via forfeits from the shorthanded Falcons to win the meet held in Bristol.

All of the contested matches were decided by pin, with Terryville’s Levi Avolt, Cayleb Leclerc, Jamison Kulesa and Jon Mailhot all winning on the mat.

Chris Warner, Nick Hernandez and Eric Atkison all won via pin for St. Paul.
