TERRYVILLE - The Terryville girls volleyball team didn’t make it easy on themselves or Northwestern Wednesday night.

The Kangaroos rallied from two sets down and beat the Highlanders 3-2.

It was a tough and closely contested match throughout with the first game (19-25) and the final set (15-7) being the largest margins of victory for each team. The three middle sets were decided by five points or less.

After dropping the first and second (23-25) sets, Terryville took the third and fourth sets 25-20, 25-21 before putting the game away with relative ease in the final game.

Martina Trovato, McKenzie Huria and Kristine Gutierrez led the way for the Kangaroos. Trovato tallied seven kills, seven digs, six block and two aces; Huria, meanwhile, finished with three kills, nine digs, an ace, three assists and blocks; and Gutierrez recorded 11 kills, 13 digs, an ace, an assist and a block.

Terryville is now 6-4 on the season.
