BRISTOL - Homers from Logan Simanski and Will Gisriel, and a triple from Josh Skowronski in the fifth inning sent Maryland-Thurmont American Little League to victory over Delaware-Milton American Little League 5-2 Thursday night.

An RBI single by Gage Joseph put Delaware back in the lead, but it would be for the last time of the night.

Maryland started their powerful fifth inning with a single by Peyton Castellow. Simanski followed with a home run to right field, giving Maryland a 3-2 lead. Maryland didn’t stop there. A triple from Skowronski and another home run from Gisriel extended Maryland’s lead to three, bring the score to its final result.

After Delaware failed to get any hits or runs in the sixth inning, Joey McMannis ended the game, catching Andrew Criswells for the third and final out.

Maryland will now advance to play Pennsylvania in another elimination game tonight at 7 p.m.

The winner will go on to play New Jersey in the final.
