NEW BRITAIN - The second half of the season has already started out better than the first half for the New Britain Bees.

Kyle Simon out pitched Somerset Patriots ace Rick Teasley and five different players drove in an RBI for the Bees as they beat Somerset 6-2 Monday night.

Simon allowed just one run over seven innings, while Teasley was chased from the game after the fifth, having been charged with four runs.

All-Star Conor Bierfeldt put New Britain on the board first with a solo home run, his 13th of the season.

Jovan Rosa and Jordan Hinshaw provided three more runs in the fifth as Rosa doubled in two and Hinshaw singled in the third.

James Skelton homered in the seventh to put the Bees up 5-1 after Somerset scored in the six and Michael Crouse drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the eighth.

Nate Roe, Brandon Fry and Shawn Gilblair closed out the game for the Bees.
