Crouse homers twice as Bees snap Blue Crabs' winning streak

WALDORF, Md. - Michael Crouse hit a pair of home runs, collecting five RBI, as the New Britain Bees defeated the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs on Saturday night at Regency Furniture Stadium, 9-3.

He hit a two-run homer in the third inning, giving the Bees a 5-1 lead at that point, and added a three-run homer in the fifth inning as the lead increased to 8-2.

Jon Griffin belted a two-run double in the first inning to give New Britain the early lead, which increased to 3-0 by the end of the frame.

The Bees used six pitchers in the game, with Jason Jarvis getting the win, allowing one earned run over 2 2/3 innings. No other New Britain pitcher went longer than two innings in the contest.

The loss snapped a six-game winning streak for the Blue Crabs.
