PET OF THE WEEK

Gordo is a very handsome guy these days, but it took a lot of work to get him there! When Gordo arrived at the Connecticut Humane Society, his skin was in bad shape due to uncontrolled allergies. He used everything from the floor, to a food dish as a scratching post because he was so itchy. Under the care of the staff veterinary team, Gordo started taking medicine, eating special food and getting bathed with soothing shampoo. Luckily, his fur has grown back and he’s no longer itchy!

Gordo will need to stay on his medicine and special food so he can stay comfortable and furry. Gordo is a big mush, and he loves to cuddle, play and just hang out. He's a great walker and is also an office helper. If you’re ready for a wrinkly hippo dog to take over your home, visit cthumane.org/adopt to learn more about Gordo. An online application can be found in each pet’s profile.

CHS is a private organization with locations in Newington, Waterford and Westport and the reduced-fee Fox Memorial Clinic for owned pets, and is not affiliated with the government or any other animal welfare organizations. CHS’ work is made possible 100% through the generosity of donors.
