FARMINGTON - Tunxis Community College will hold a virtual online registration event Saturday, Aug. 15, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., for new and continuing students to get help with advising, course registration, and financial aid for fall semester.

Classes at Tunxis start Wednesday, Aug. 26, with a mix of course options including on-campus, online and hybrid classes that are a mix of online and on-campus.

The college successfully filed its Phase 3 reopening plans with the Connecticut Department of Public Health recently. These plans incorporate a range of measures to protect students and employees, including required face masks, a virtual sign-in process that provides contact tracing and enhanced cleaning routines and sanitizing throughout the day according to CDC guidelines.

The plan also includes occupancy limits, moving of furniture and signage to enable social distancing, installation of plexiglass shields on desks and counters in classrooms and contactless payment options for various services on campus. The college will remain closed to the general public until further notice.
