NEW BRITAIN - Business students from Central Connecticut State University will again be hosting Homeless Connect, an event designed to provide homeless people free food, information and services.

This year’s event will be held on April 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 233 Main St. in New Britain.

A free hot breakfast and beverages will be provided to visitors, who can also check out dozens of booths from service providers.

Local Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous groups, the University of Connecticut dental program, representatives of the Wheeler Clinic Health and Wellness program, representatives of the Section 8 housing program, Family Promise of New Britain and others will be on hand to offer information and resources on available services.

Free blood pressure checks and STD and HIV screenings will be available.

Each year, Homeless Connect is organized and hosted by CCSU business students as part of a business management course.

All people experiencing homelessness are invited to attend.
