BRISTOL - City leaders and Chamber members welcomed Berkshire Hathaway Home Services to their new location on Terryville Avenue Thursday, with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Berkshire Hathaway Home Services moved into their new location at 948 Terryville Ave., where the former Martino’s Deli was located, on July 1.

They were previously located at 641 Farmington Ave.

Anissa Paolino, Bristol Office Leader, said that this particular location was chosen due to there being a high amount of traffic.

City Councilors Peter Kelley, Mary Fortier and Dave Preleski attended the ribbon cutting, and praised Berkshire Hathaway’s new location.

“This is a great location,” Kelley said. “It is very accessible; I think they will do well here. Berkshire Hathaway is a respected name in the business.”

Preleski said that he was glad to have the national firm in Bristol.

“Berkshire Hathaway are a class act and we are proud to have them here,” he said.

Fortier said that she loves it when a business that is moving stays in Bristol.

“I’m glad to see this building reused as well,” she said. “I remember it as the deli but it sure doesn’t look like that anymore.”

Mark Thomas, Bristol’s Marketing Specialist, and Justin Malley, executive director of the Bristol Development Authority, also had positive things to say.

“I think it’s a great, high-traffic area and it is nice and centrally located,” Thomas said.

Malley said that Bristol is supportive of business of all shapes and sizes.

Paolino said that the new office was renovated with an “open concept” design instead of having cubicles, which Paolino said is intended to encourage employees to work collaboratively.

Cindy Bombard, president and CEO of the local Chamber of Commerce, remarked that it is a beautiful space.

She also thanked Berkshire Hathaway for supporting the Chamber for many years.

Chris Callahan, an agent with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, said that Berkshire Hathaway is a full-service real estate company that can help people to buy or sell homes.

Mike Graham, a realtor with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, said that it is a one-stop shop for clients.

“We pride ourselves on our professionalism,” he added.
