SOUTHINGTON – The Southington Chamber of Commerce’s Ladies Night is set for Thursday at The Aqua Turf Club.

There will be food, prizes and presentations showcasing several of Southington’s female fronted businesses.

The event will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the club at 556 Mulberry St. It will include music from a DJ and opportunities to shop, eat and watch hair and makeup demos. “Swag bags” will be given to the first 100 visitors, and guests can also participate in a silent “Honey Do” auction. Several male-fronted local business owners have offered to provide a variety of prizes to the winners. David Alan Hospitality group is offering a “chef night” with a table for eight; C.B. Rose Mobile Detailing Services is offering a car detailing; and Leadership Martial Arts is offering three months of unlimited kickboxing classes.

“The ‘Honey Do’ auction is short for ‘Honey, do this,’” Taylor Crofton, executive director of the Southington Chamber of Commerce said. “Last year, male business owners worked the event and advertised the services that they would be providing. This year, we’ve changed it to a silent auction so it runs smoother.”

Crofton said that there will be a total of 40 vendors including several female-owned local businesses.

“There is something for everybody, with an emphasis on women from various organizations, companies and contractors,” said Crofton. “We have strong female entrepreneurial business ownership here in Southington.”

Among the new vendors this year are Team Demas Orthodontics, C.S. Vitality Enterprises and Tapout Fitness.

“Tapout Fitness could be a fun vendor for moms to visit to learn about what class options exist for the whole family,” said Crofton. “Fitness used to be more of a small niche here and town but now it seems to be getting far bigger.”

Crofton said that past Ladies Night events have been highly successful and that she expects to sell out of tickets again this year. In past years, as many as 300 people have attended the event.

Premier sponsors include The Hospital of Central Connecticut and iHeartMedia.

Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. To purchase tickets, visit or call 860-628-8036.
