BRISTOL - After 35 years in the same location, Dee’s Cleaners and Laundromat will soon be moving down the street.

Owner Dee Dee Mandino explained that the current location felt crowded, and one of the reasons for the moves was to have a more comfortable space.

“I had a feeling people should have a beautiful space they can feel comfortable in,” she said. “I didn’t have enough space in my old store to do that.”

The new location is 4,800-square-feet, which is bigger than the current location that is 3,000-square-feet, Mandino pointed out.

Mandino hopes to be moved into the new location by April 1, she noted.

With more space at the new location, Mandino plans to have comfortable couches, big screen televisions and a sitting area that will be called a library, she said. “It will be a pleasant experience.”

Dee’s will be expanding the services it already offers now that it will have more space, Mandino explained.

“ “We will be up about 30 percent in capacity for serving out Laundromat customers. We will have a lot of new machines,” she said.

All of the washers and dryers will be upgrades, and will take credit and debit cards, in addition to cash, she added.

Dee’s is currently located at 683 Farmington Ave., in the Stop & Shop plaza. Its new location will be at 900 Farmington Ave., the former location of Insane Irvings. Insane Irvings moved to 862 Farmington Ave. in the Rodd’s Plaza.

The new location is more visible from Farmington Avenue, which Mandino hope increases its business.
