BRISTOL - “Thirty years and we’re still here,” say the owners of Cousins Oil, who credit their businesses’ longevity to great personal service.

Cousins Oil, located at 43 W. Washington St., was founded by brothers Peter and Glenn Gaski on Sept. 21, 1987, and has remained successful for the long haul. The company offers fuel oil delivery, heating and cooling system maintenance and installation. Cousins Oil employs seven people, the newest hire of which has been working there for seven years.

“It feels good to reach this milestone,” said Peter Gaski. “You never know when you start out how it will go, but we’re proud of what we have here.”

“We established Cousins Oil as a full service oil company,” said Glenn Gaski. “A lot of oil companies have come and gone over the years but they usually don’t offer servicing. For our customers, one call does it all.”

Peter Gaski said his family is now three generations into the oil business. His father was in the oil business for years and now his son, Adam, is the service manager at Cousins Oil.

“We’re not going anywhere any time soon,” he said. “We take a lot of pride in doing a good job for our customers and we don’t sell them what they don’t need. Most of the time when people call us we know who they are and what is in their basement. Once we’ve been in someone’s basement, we feel like we own that equipment as much as the homeowner. We treat it as our own equipment, if not better. To put it simply, we service what we sell and what we sell is service. We have a good reputation and a lot of loyal customers.”

Peter Gaski added that customers will often call to request a specific technician.

“We hope to continue our high standards and provide exceptional service going forward,” he said.

Cousins Oil’s office is open from Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. They are a 24-hour service company.
