BRISTOL – Bristol Public Library will be hosting a “noon year’s eve” party Thursday and Manross Memorial Library will offer virtual New Year’s Eve activities for children to celebrate the coming of 2022.

Bristol Public Library, located at 5 High St. will hold its New Year’s party from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. No registration is required and families can drop-in that day for a variety of fun activities.

Valerie Toner, children's librarian, said everyone is welcome but masks will be required.

“We’ll have party crafts for kids to make including New Year’s masks and hats,” she said. “There will also be a bubble machine and strobe light going and we’ll do countdown to noon.”

Toner said this is the 10th year that Bristol Public Library has offered New Year’s activities for the community.

“The kids love it,” she said. “Come in and have fun.”

F.N. Manross Memorial Library, located at 260 Central St., will be holding their New Year’s celebration virtually this Friday. People can call the library at 860-584-7790 to register. They will then be emailed a link to participate via Zoom 15 to 20 minutes before the program begins on Friday.

Those who register will be able to pick up a kit of party supplies at the library leading up to the event. The activity will include a story time, a craft activity, dancing and a countdown to noon.

Teresa Goulden, branch manager at F.N. Manross Memorial Library, said this is the second year the library has offered a virtual New Year’s activity. Last year, she said, was a big hit.

“People really enjoyed it last year,” she said. “The kids had a lot of fun and the families were glad to have the opportunity.”

Bristol Public Library and Manross Memorial Library will close for the New Year's Holiday at 12:15 p.m. on Thursday. The libraries will re-open for regular hours on Monday, Jan. 3.
