BRISTOL – Forestville American Legion Post 209 Commander Brian Avery recently worked alongside Terryville High School students to build picnic tables for Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.

Avery said that he worked with Terryville Tech Ed teacher Russell Fuller and his class to create “gorgeous pressure-treated picnic tables” to be donated to the church on Camp Street.

“I wanted to give a very special thank you to all the people who put in the hard work to make this possible,” said Avery. “I want to thank Michael Hults, principal of Terryville High School, and supervisor and facility director James Mason for delivery of wood and delivery of the tables to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Without all of you this would not have been done. I appreciate it from the deepest part of my heart and it’s amazing what great things we can do as a community when we work together. On behalf of American Legion Post 209 and Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, I also wanted to give a special thank you to everyone at Terryville High School for the generous support of this program.”
