To the Editor:
This Election Day, the taxpayers of Southington have a very important decision to make.
We need to decide whether or not to spend $10 million to repair and/or replace hundreds of miles of roads in our great town. I think we can all agree poor infrastructure is an issue that is prevalent throughout our state. We have an opportunity to put our tax dollars to good use by repairing and maintaining our roads.
The benefit of safe, reliable, clean roads outweigh the costs. It helps with the enticement of new businesses coming to town and assists our residents to engage in passive recreation while bicycling, safe travel to schools and walking/running on town through ways.
Please support the town of Southington and vote YES for the referendum question to repair and maintain our roads on Election Day, November 3rd, 2020.
