To the Editor:

Sometime in the 1970s, I became active with the Guild of the Blessed Sacrament of St. Matthew Parish here in Forestville. I’m still active to this day, or I will be after this pandemic is over.

Over the years, our women have had many Communion breakfasts and scholarship/annual dinners at Nuchie’s restaurant. Dave Pasqualicchio, co-owner, has always worked with us to keep our expenses down and has always been supportive to any of our first time chairwomen of these events.

For several years I was responsible for inviting speakers, and to a person, they had commented positively on the food, the service and the surroundings. For all you skeptics out there, I for one liked the décor and will miss our events there.

We always felt relaxed and confident in the service and food. I must also take note of the many fundraisers they so generously supported for so many in our community over the years. I wonder if Forestville (streets, sidewalks ect.) will be as clean ever again. I hope someone will take the helm there soon. Thanks to Dave and Mike, their staff, and their families who made personal sacrifices so people like us could have so many wonderful times. Thanks for the memories!
