To the Editor:

The heart and soul of any strong community are those individuals and businesses willing to volunteer to help a cause.

Recently, many local individuals and companies donated time, money and material to help make the new Community Garden in Plymouth a reality (re: “Plymouth Installs New Community Garden”, Monday May 18). Led by Terryville resident Nate Brown, a group of volunteers including residents Mike Bilodeau, Gary Brown, Derek Freimuth, Keith Joy and Greg Shell spent more than six hours on a Saturday constructing the new “raised beds” with their own tools and equipment.

Other local businesses and groups contributed time, money and materials as well, including Richards Corp, Schultz Corp, Back To Basics, Supreme Industries, the Terryville Youth Soccer Club and Robert Green Assoc LLC.

A big thank you to all those who helped make the new raised beds at the Community Garden look so good.
