To The Editor:

Recently two boys from New Britain had the opportunity to travel to New Zealand and Australia to play baseball and represent New Britain High School and the United States.

Michael Gajda and Justin Adorno were selected to play in the Goodwill Series games. We would like to thank Coach Mercado, New Britain High School Baseball Coach for giving them such a wonderful opportunity and Samantha Amoruso for working so hard.

We would also like to thank Superintendent Nancy Sarra and Principal Damon Pearce for allowing them to participate. We also want to thank all the family, friends, coaches, and teachers who supported, donated to, and attended the fundraiser thrown on their behalf.

In this day and age with so many scams out there many businesses were hesitant to donate for their cause.

We would like to thank the following businesses who took a chance on our boys to donate on their behalf to make this once in a life time trip possible.

Thank you to Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, The Manafort Brothers, New Britain Little League, Stepensky Opticians, Kaestle Boos Associates, Attorney Zagorski, Attorney Anne Marshall, Sir Speedy Printers, Martin Rosols, Diamond Brite Car Wash, Springbrook Ice and Fuel, Carlson Funeral Home, Doctor Goodwin Maietta, Story Brothers, Mayor Erin Stewart, Rich Products Corporation, Polumbo Jewelers, Polished Image, Criolisimo, Motta 2, Berlin Spirits, Cj’s Restaurant, Dragonfly gift shop, Nora Bella Salon, Drop Dyed Gorgeous, Bills Pizza, Amity Printing, Us Nails, Avery’s Soda, Powerhouse Gym, Costco, Soda Service, and Salute Restaurant! Thank you again for taking a chance on our boys and giving them a once in a lifetime experience!
