To The Editor:

On May 29, 2018 I was honored to accept the Democratic Party’s nomination for state representative for the 78th District (Bristol / Plymouth). As a life-long Connecticut resident, I view this position as both an opportunity to give back to the state I love and to ensure it remains a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family.

Growing up in Milford gave me the foundation values that drive me today: good education, strong communities, and opportunity for all. I graduated from both the University of Connecticut in Storrs and the University of Connecticut Law School.

My wife Karen and I have lived in Bristol since 1981. There we raised two terrific children who both attended Bristol Central High School and then went to college out of state.

Happily, they returned to Connecticut to buy homes and start families. As a grandfather five times over, I worry every day that my grandkids will not be able to live and work here as their parents do.

That is why I plan to be a strong voice in Hartford advocating for good public schools, a world-class transportation network and the infrastructure needed to make good employment opportunities available to all.

During the campaign I look forward to meeting with you, learning about you and your families and hearing about your hopes for our great state.
