BRISTOL - The Leszek Wrona Soccer Academy has a number of camps and clinics guaranteed to fit your child’s soccer needs.
The self-titled academy, run by soccer legend Wrona, has an indoor facility located in the heart of Bristol, at 541 North Main St.
“We’re very family-oriented,” Wrona said.
Over the summer, Wrona will be running six different five-day soccer camps held in Burlington, Plainville, Bristol, Berlin and Farmington. At each of the camps, every child will be taught at his or her own pace.
Registration forms are available at wronasoccer.com. Prices for camps - for ages 5-14 - vary from $130 to $200 each.
For those who cannot be present for all five days, Wrona said, the camps are prorated to meet the needs of children who may only be able to come for a day or two.
“They don’t have to do the whole thing,” Wrona said.
The summer camps include a goalie coach for aspiring goalkeepers. Additionally, Wrona also offers separate goalie camps.
“It’s specific goalie training,” Wrona said.
The academy also offers small group training and private lessons for children 3 1/2 to 18 years old. Those interested should contact the soccer legend at 860-680-5195.
The North Main Street facility also has winter soccer leagues, winter programs and can host birthday parties.
“There’s a snack bar and you can have pizza or something,” Wrona said.
Wrona, who grew up in Poland, played soccer professionally overseas and has won championships as both a player and a coach. He has coached locally since 1991 at different high schools. He currently serves as the coach of the Plainville High School girls’ soccer team.
