BRISTOL - The Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce is hosting a picnic at Lake Compounce next month for businesses in the area to network and socialize and their families to enjoy a day at the park.
“It’s a yearly event where chamber members buy a ticket that includes parking, all day admissions and food at the pavilion,” said Cindy Scoville, president and CEO of the chambers.
“It’s a family fun event with a little of business and networking mixed in,” Scoville said. “Some companies even use it as a thank you to their employees.”
The Business After Hours Picnic is for members of the chambers. Attendees are encouraged to bring their business cards for a door prize drawing that is being organized during the event.
The event is set for August 11 and registration is done online prior to the event. The tickets must be purchased in advance and picked up at the chamber. Holding tickets is not allowed because of the popularity of the event and the limited number available.
Tickets are $20 each and include admission to the park from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The event will run from 5 to 7:30 p.m. and a picnic the chamber organized will include burgers, hot dogs, ribs, sausage and peppers, a taco bar, a baked potato bar, ice cream and soda.
