Chambers of Commerce golf tournament proceeds will support community projects

BRISTOL - The Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce is preparing to host its 26th Annual Golf Tournament, from which some of the proceeds will be used to benefit the chamber’s community projects. 

The tournament will use both 18-hole golf courses at the Tunxis Country Club for groups of four and individual golfers to participate. 

There are three different types of sponsorship opportunities offered. Each includes lunch, dinner, a foursome with a tee sign, a gift, program recognition and digital recognition at the dinner. 

There are also options for beverages, lunch, dinner, raffles, and driving range sponsorships where the sponsor’s name will be displayed at the corresponding location. Other options include two tee signs with one sign on each course, or one tee sign on one course. 

A portion of the proceeds from the tournament will be used to benefit local service organizations and various projects the chamber is organizing, such as Route 6 Flags, Holiday Lights and the Mum Festival. 

The tournament includes 18 holes of golf and opportunities to win prizes at select holes, free gifts for all golfers, lunch, snacks and dinner. 

Different contests are organized for the day, including closest to the pin, longest drive and closest to the line. Hole in one prizes include $10,000, two Harley Davidson motorcycles and two cars. There will also be awards presented to the best foursome on each of the courses. 

The event will be held at the Tunxis Country Club in Farmington on Aug. 7. Registration can be done online prior to the event at 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 7 and will be followed by lunch. 

A shotgun, four-person scramble will start at noon, and the event will be emceed by Maxwell McGee of 102.9 The Whale. 

The tournament will conclude with dinner, awards and a raffle that will include prizes such as a flat screen TV, social membership to Chippanee Country Club, an overnight stay at the Hartford Marriott Farmington, Palace Theater tickets, gift certificates, camping gear and gift baskets.
