The Northeast Conference schedules were announced Tuesday for the men’s and women’s basketball season, revealing the regular season slate for both CCSU basketball season.

Both the men and the women will play an 18-game double round-robin regular season schedule, with the season tipping off December 29th. The non-conference contests will be announced at a later date.

The entire season, with the exception of one week in February, will be mirrored for both the men and the women. The men’s regular season finale will come Feb. 26 while the women finish season play on March 3rd.

Televised games will be announced in October. Game times and dates are both to be determined and subject to change to accommodate TV scheduling.

Both conference championships will take place in March, with the men playing March 2-8 and the women playing March 7-13 at teams’ respective sites.

Mount St. Mary’s returns this season as the defending conference champion in both the men’s and women’s NEC leagues. Last season the Blue Devil men went 5-16 (5-13 in NEC) and finished 10th in the standings. The Blue Devil women finished 4-14 (all conference play) and also were 10th in the standings.

Patrick Sellers will begin his first season in charge of the CCSU men's basketball team after both a successful playing career and assistant coaching stint. As an assistant from 1999-2003, he helped the Blue Devils win a pair of Northeast Conference championships. Since then he was a member of NCAA tournament teams as a coach for UConn, Creighton and Farleigh Dickinson.

Kerri Reaves was named the interim head coach of the women's program prior to the 2020-21 season, and will return to the program after being an assistant for the last 15 seasons. She has also been an assistant at Providence College and was head coach at Div. II Saint Leo University.
