NEW BRITAIN - It was a rough season overall for the CCSU women’s basketball team, but Thursday night’s regular season finale helped the Blue Devils end the year on a high note.

After honoring its seniors, CCSU dominated St. Francis Brooklyn and ran away with a 75-54 win, closing the regular season with two straight wins. Normally a poor third-quarter team, the Blue Devils outscored the 23-17 in the third after taking an eight-point lead into the break.

Ashley Berube and Dejah Jenkins led the way for CCSU, each finishing with 11 points. Seniors Ashley Chin and Bruna Vila Artigues started for the Blue Devils and finished with 9 and 5 points, respectively.

Ally Lassen led St. Francis Brooklyn with 14 points, while Abby Anderson added 12. But the Terriers’ bench combined for just 11 points, while CCSU’s reserves scored 41.

The Blue Devils conclude their season with a 4-25 record and a 3-15 mark in NEC play.
