SMITHFIELD, RI – The CCSU men’s basketball trailed by double digits in the fourth quarter during Saturday afternoon’s road contest with Bryant, but the team’s comeback bid came up just short.

The Blue Devils fell 64-60 to the Bulldogs for their third straight loss, dropping the team to 1-11 in conference play.

CCSU trailed by three with 10 seconds left in the game, and Bryant fouled to avoid a potential game-tying 3-pointer. Ian Krishnan, who finished with a team-high 16 points, missed the second free throw attempt and sent the Bulldogs to the line to seal the game.

Krishnan was one of four Blue Devils to finish in double figures. Jamir Coleman dropped 11, while Jamir Reed and Greg Outlaw both added 10 in the losing effort.

CCSU trailed by 10 with eight minutes to go and pulled to within three thanks to five straight points by Krishnan, but the Bulldogs got the job done at the free throw line, hitting 11-of-14 free throws in the second half to seal the victory.

Benson Lin paced Bryant with 13 points, while Hall Elisias added 12.

The Blue Devils begin a three-game home stretch on Thursday against LIU before hosting a rematch against Bryant on Saturday afternoon.
