NEW BRITAIN - The Central Connecticut State women’s basketball team’s non-conference schedule for the upcoming season is certainly set up to be an interesting one.

The 11-game slate includes opponents from the America East, ACC, Atlantic Sun, Atlantic 10, Conference USA, Ivy League, Mid-American, and Patriot League conferences, including a pair of games in Florida the school announced Thursday. Overall, the Blue Devils will face a total of five squads that played in postseason tournaments in 2018-19.

“We're looking forward to playing against a number of quality opponents," CCSU head coach Beryl Piper said in a statement. “The schedule will challenge our team and help prepare them to play in the Northeast Conference as we look to play in the postseason.”

Piper is set to lead the Blue Devils into her 13th season at the helm of her alma mater and has a career record of 149-210, including 7-21 in 2018-19.

CCSU will start the season with consecutive road games, opening the campaign on Nov. 5 at Buffalo, which qualified for the NCAA Tournament last season. The Blue Devils will then travel to ACC-opponent Pittsburgh on, Nov. 11.

CCSU hosts Brown to Detrick Gymnasium for the home-opener on Nov. 14. Following consecutive road games at Lehigh (Nov. 18) and Duquesne (Nov. 26), CCSU will play back-to-back home games against Albany (Dec. 1) and UMass Lowell (Dec. 5).

The team’s non-conference schedule will conclude with four consecutive road games. The Blue Devils will travel to New Hampshire on Dec. 8, before going to Florida for a pair of games. CCSU will play at Florida Atlantic on Dec. 15 and then play at Florida Gulf Coast on Dec. 17.

The Blue Devils' non-conference schedule will be closed out with a game at local rival Hartford on Dec. 21, before beginning the Northeast Conference portion of its schedule in January.
