NEW BRITAIN - The Central Connecticut State men’s basketball team had few answers for Josh Robinson.

It certainly proved costly.

The Mount St. Mary’s guard scored 32 points and was 12-of-17 shooting as the Blue Devils fell 71-57 Thursday night to lose their fourth straight.

Tyler Kohl led CCSU (12-14, 5-8) with 24 points and nine rebounds, while Joe Hugley contributed 16 points himself. No other Blue Devils player finished with double figures.

CCSU (12-14, 5-8) held a 32-27 lead at halftime before the Mountaineers (15-11, 9-4) began to chip away, taking the lead for good when Donald Carey went on a 7-0 run by himself with a pair of jump shots and a 3.

Carey’s run put Mount St. Mary’s up 44-39 with 11:44 left to play, leaving the Blue Devils unable to catch up as they went over six minutes without a field goal of their own.

Robinson later when on a 7-0 run of his own with a pair of layups and a 3-pointer to make the score 55-46 with 6:46 remaining.

Carey scored 13 points and Greg Alexander scored 10 for Mount St. Mary's.

A layup by Austin Nehls and two foul shots from Kohl pulled CCSU to win one, 44-43, at the midway point of the period, but Carey converted a four-point play and a Robinson layup started a run of eight unanswered points to push the lead to double-figures.

The Mountaineers led by as much as 71-55 in the closing minute before a Blue Devils bucket closed out the scoring.
