NEW BRITAIN - The postseason is finally here and for the Central Connecticut State baseball team that means it begins with the NEC Tournament.

The second-seeded Blue Devils will take on Wagner, the No. 3 seed, today at 4 p.m. at Dodd Stadium in Norwich.

CCSU ended its regular season with an overall record of 33-20 and a 21-7 mark in conference play, while the Seahawks come in with a 21-26 record, including 13-12 in the NEC.

The Blue Devils are playing in the NEC Tournament for the 15th time and have won four titles (2002, 2003, 2004, 2010). They are also the last school other than Sacred Heart or Bryant to win an NEC championship.

Bryant is the top seed after going 29-24 and 20-6 in conference play with Sacred Heart (21-34, 14-13) rounding out the field. The Bulldogs and the Pioneers play at noon to open the tournament.

CCSU went 8-6 against the field this season, splitting a four-game series against both Bryant and Wagner, while going 4-2 against Sacred Heart.
