NEW YORK - The CCSU men’s basketball team dropped its sixth straight contest on Wednesday night to Fordham by a score of 83-60. Fordham took control of the game in the first half as it outscored the Blue Devils by 23 and CCSU was unable to recover.

The Rams shot 57 percent from the field, 48 percent from three and 86 percent from the free throw line. CCSU, on the other hand shot just 44 percent from the field and 65 percent from the free throw line.

Austin Nehls was once again a bright spot for the Blue Devils as he made eight of his 14 field goal attempts for a game-high 26 points. Tidell Pierre was the only other CCSU player to score in double-figures as he scored 10 points.

Fordham had a balanced attack as every starter had at least nine points on less than nine field goal attempts and four of the five were in double figures. Javontae Hawkins had a team-high 16 points for the Rams while Antwoine Anderson added 15.

Fordham improved to 6-7 with the win, while CCSU dropped to 2-9. Next up for the Blue Devils is their NEC opener at Wagner on Dec. 29.
