CCSU men's basketball loses big to Yale

NEW HAVEN - Alex Copeland and Miye Oni combined to score 45 points and Yale posted a wire-to-wire, 90-59 romp past Central Connecticut State Tuesday night.

The Bulldogs, who remain unbeaten at home, got a 3-pointer from Blake Reynolds to open the game and took a 44-28 lead at intermission.

Copeland finished with 23 points on 10-of-14 shooting from the field. Oni hit 7-of-8 from deep to add 22 points. Yale collectively shot 57.9 percent from the field, hitting 33 of 57 shots from the floor, including 14-of-27 from distance.

Austin Nehls scored 19 points to lead Central Connecticut (2-7), which shot 20-of-54 from the field (37 percent) and 5-of-16 from distance.

The victory extended three Bulldog win streaks: a four-game win streak, an 18-game home win streak and a nine-game win streak against in-state opponents. Yale (6-4) now takes an eight-day break for final exams.
